Want to read my books? For free?
If you like my books, and have the time and commitment to be an advanced reviewer, I need your help! I am putting together a small Advanced Review Copy team for Bec McMaster books, and looking for candidates who are interested in reviewing.
Team members will be sent e-copies of ARC’s, or Advanced Reader Copies, in exchange for HONEST reviews on soon-to-be-released works. One of the reasons I specify an honest review is that not every work is suitable for every reader. I want potential readers to be able to see if they’d genuinely like the book. Reviews can be as long as you like, but I believe a minimum of twenty words is required at both Amazon and Goodreads.
At this stage, I’m opening up the team to twenty spots, and reviewers will be chosen from among candidates that apply. As I’m sure many of you are eager to be on the list, I cannot guarantee spots, however, I’m happy to set up a waitlist. Once the team is successfully set up, I may open up other spots. Successful candidates will be contacted via email by the 10th of August, 2016. If you do not receive an email by 10th August, I have put you on the waiting list, but you have not been successful at this stage.
Basically, as a member of the Bec McMaster Review Team, you will receive early copies of future releases for free, available for download in either a MOBI or EPUB file only, via BookFunnel, around 4-5 days before a new release.
** Please note: you MUST be able to side load these files onto your kindle, or device. ** You will need to know where your device/computer stores downloads as there is a limit to ONE download attempt per person. No technical support will be provided, unfortunately, as the author is no tech guru, and has limited time. Book Funnel, the service used to track and distribute the books, does provide tech support for the downloading phase. Use the “Help” button on the Book Funnel download page if you have issues.
Or see here to learn how to EMAIL a MOBI (kindle) file to your device or desktop.
Or here to learn how to transfer a MOBI file from your computer to your kindle.
Or here to learn how to load and open an EPUB file to your iPad.
You have ten days from receipt of ARC to post your review on Amazon (required) and Goodreads (required). If you feel so inclined, reviews on Barnes & Noble, Apple and Kobo, or other online sites are appreciated, but not strictly necessary.
You must have an amazon account in order to post reviews. You do not have to be in America for this. I will consider reviewers from other countries. You can set up an Amazon account here for free.
You must have a Goodreads account. You can set up a Goodreads account here for free.
You must be signed up to my author newsletter (see this website for sign up). Sorry guys, but this is an opportunity for my newsletter subscribers, and faithful fans.
You will receive a reminder to post your review before the ten days is up, so don’t worry about forgetting! As there is sure to be a number of readers on the waiting list for this project, if you cannot provide a review within the ten days, then I will have to remove you from the list, and give your spot to another reader for future releases. Please note that the rating of a review does not influence your continued spot on the team. Not leaving a review does.
ARC’s will be available for a limited amount of time (most likely over that 10-day period before the link expires). If you miss out on a download, wait for the next opportunity.
If you cannot commit at the time to providing a review (life interfering etc., or a major event at the time), please do not accept the ARC file, or follow the link to BookFunnel when it appears in the email. We’ll simply keep you on the list for the next title.
I got the book for free, does that mean I can pass it on?
No. That would be illegal. You cannot pass your ARC along to someone else, or share it, or upload it anywhere online. Uploading online is piracy, and files are sent with embedded information, so if they are passed along, we can track it.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF JOINING THE ARC TEAM – Please Read Carefully
To clarify, in order to sign up for the review team, you agree:
Now that the not-so-fun-stuff is out of the way… FREE BOOK sounds great, where and how do I sign up?
Potential reviewers will be chosen by the author at her discretion. To be considered, you MUST have reviewed a past novel of Bec McMaster’s. A link to this review will be required to make the shortlist.
If you are certain you can meet the above requirements, please email becmcmaster (at) bigpond (dot) com with the following information in the body of the email (or use the contact form on this website):
Emails without all of the above information will be deleted. If successful you will receive an email by the 10th August, 2016, welcoming you to the team. Please do not contact the author if you have not received an email.
If successful, your email address will be uploaded to a Mailchimp Review Team list, where you will receive emails regarding the links to new ARC’S for review, and a follow-up email to let you know the ten days is coming up.
Good luck! xx
